Wasn't expecting to be impressed by the first footage, but these look nicely updated visually while still not losing the aesthetic feel of the original versions. Looks like a surprisingly high quality job. If Nintendo announced Mario Odyssey 2 and then didn't show anything of it until three weeks before release you bet I'd think that was very odd. Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta were interesting cases as Nintendo has acknowledged they announced them too early. Nintendo generally shows the game when they announce it.
"Are you "suspicious" when Nintendo announces games but doesn't show any gameplay video until months or years later?" When a game doesn't show up, it's frequently a sign of a problem. It was "suspicious" when Nintendo didn't show Advance Wars at the last Direct and lo and behold it has been delayed. Most games get screenshots, videos, previews, developer interviews, etc for months before launch.
If the game is ready for release why delay showing it off? Rockstar didn't even share a single screenshot when they announced the trilogy the other week.
WHEN DOES GTA 8 COME OUT FULL
Given how many games release broken and full of bugs it's perfectly logical to wonder why a game was not shown until very close to release. Fri 22nd Oct There's no need to be a dick. We've also been treated to our first set of screenshots, although no screens specific to the Switch version have appeared just yet:
